Individual professional memberships

Dues for individual membership in professional organizations are considered the personal responsibility of faculty and staff and may not be paid from funds for which the University is the Fiscal Agent. This policy does not apply if the cost of the membership plus the cost of a requested item (e.g. registration or subscription) is less than the non-member cost of the item.

The dean of the institute, upon written recommendation of the appropriate head, chair, or director, may grant an exception to this policy as appropriate.
